Perkins designs, manufactures and markets a full line of residential cart and bin lifters. In
addition, the company designs, manufactures and markets stand alone industrial lifters, hydraulic
rear load container latches, salt spreaders and front load carry cans. All of which are distributed
around the world. With customers on six continents, Perkins is one of the most recognized brand names
in the residential waste collection products.
History:
Founded in 1971 Perkins Manufacturing Company began producing cart lifters for regional waste hauling
companies in the 1980's. The Perkins TuckawayTM brand, initially
developed in 1984, was the first cart lifter to utilize the sweeping arc motion to "grab"
the cart. With pioneering features such as rotary actuators, breakaway faceplates, high ground
clearances and the patented sweeping motion the Perkins TuckawayTM
lifters quickly became the leading brand for cart lifters.
Manufacturing:
The manufacturing and administrative facility is in Romeoville, Illinois.
Products/Customers:
Perkins manufactures more than 30 products and accessories for the waste industry (residential and industrial
and commercial users). From cart lifters, self powered stands, front load containers, container latches and
salt spreaders, Perkins customers have chosen Perkins products for their durability, reliability and dependability.
Perkins products are distributed primarily through wholesale distributors and longstanding OEM agreements.
R&D:
Perkins Manufacturing holds over 20 issued and pending domestic and international patents. The company
continues to innovate with new products and features utilizing Kaizen.
Sales & Service:
Perkins distributes its products worldwide through direct and indirect sales, including North America, Europe,
South America, Africa, the Far East and Australia.
